About
Sayde Alexandrescu, MSES, MSYT, RYT, ACSM-CEP, is the cancer exercise specialist at the Nassif Community Cancer Center. She joined the cancer center in June 2025. Alexandrescu attended the University of Iowa for her undergraduate degree, and Aurora University and Maryland University of Integrative Health for her Master’s in Environmental Studies and Master’s in Yoga Therapy, respectively.
Sayde chose to go into her field because she wanted to share her fascination with the effects of movement on the biopsychosocial sphere with others, and to promote interoception and connection in the community.
Sayde is motivated each day by “watching a body return to itself.” She shares, “I’m motivated by seeing the return of a smile, strength, quality of life, and a person’s capacity to be the most they can be today.”
When asked to describe the care she provides her patients, Alexandrescu said, “In-the-moment, informative movement while building awareness of breathing patterns. Attention to the body for bottom-up regulation, aiding in decreased pain, increased range of motion, stamina and calm.”
Her message to patients is, “Movement is medicine and it is accessible to us all. I bring vibrancy and evidence-based practices to adapt to individual needs, accommodating any impairments or injuries.”
In her free time, Sayde enjoys yoga, meditation, gardening and travel.
