About
Kyann Banghart, LBSW, is one of the oncology social workers at the Helen G. Nassif Community Cancer Center. Kyann earned her bachelor’s degree from Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids.
Kyann chose to become a social worker because she enjoys helping others and building relationships. When asked why she chose to work with cancer patients, she shared, “I’ve had several friends and family members experience cancer. I want to provide our patients the kind of support I would want my loved ones to experience.”
Kyann would describe the care she provides as compassionate and authentic. She’s motivated each day by the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s day. “Small acts of kindness really matter,” she said. “I try to be the sunshine in someone else’s day!”
When asked what her message to patients would be, Kyann said, “They are important to me, and are some of the strongest people I’ve ever met.”
In her free time, Kyann enjoys spending time with family and friends, being in nature, crafting and experiencing new things.
