About
Connie Dietiker, RN, is one of the Care Coordinators at the Helen G. Nassif Community Cancer Center. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with her Associate Degree in Nursing.
Connie started her nursing career later than most. She was a stay-at-home mom for her three children and ran an in-home daycare service for 18 years. After seeing her father deal with a lot of health problems, eventually passing away due to lung cancer, Connie decided to go back to school to earn her nursing degree. What she likes most about her role as a care coordinator is working with the providers and getting to connect with her patients.
“I am reliable, compassionate and I will always advocate for the patient any way I can to ensure they receive the care they deserve,” said Connie when asked what qualities describe her care. “Each patient is unique and so is their cancer journey. When I meet a new patient my goal is to listen not only to the words they speak but what their body language tells me. I want to give the best hand-off possible to the providers to be sure the patient’s goals are met.”
In her free time Connie enjoys spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and baking.
