Kimmie Carney, RN, ACLS, BLS, is a care coordinator at the Helen G. Nassif Community Cancer Center. She obtained her registered nursing (RN) degree from Kirkwood Community College.
Kimmie says living the vocation of nursing is important to her. Her faith is her motivation for the care she provides. “I believe God has called me to be a nurse,” she explains. “I want to be present for patients and provide them with compassion and love. I want them to feel hope and know they matter, especially when they’re walking a new journey full of uncertainties.”
In Kimmie, patients will find tenderness, compassion and joy, alongside a touch of humor. “I care about each person individually,” she says. “I walk with patients when they’re scared and give them the information they need to be empowered. And, I pray for patients’ health and healing every day.”
When not at work, Kimmie enjoys spending time with her husband, their four children, family and friends.
