Andrea Watkinson, BSN, RN, OCN, director of the Nassif Community Cancer Center, has been named to the Corridor Business Journal’s Forty under 40 list for 2023. The Forty Under 40 list recognizes leaders under the age of 40 who have made a significant impact in their business and community early in their careers.
Watkinson began her nursing career at the Community Cancer Center in 2012 as a care coordinator and was quickly promoted to lead care coordinator a year later. In this position she served as patients’ primary point of contact, helping them navigate their cancer journey from diagnosis all the way to survivorship.
In 2015, Watkinson was promoted to manager of clinical services, a role she served in until being named director of the Community Cancer Center in November 2021.
Watkinson has been an integral part of the leadership team for the Community Cancer Center for over 12 years. Her background as a registered nurse, and a cancer survivor herself, provides a unique and enthusiastic drive to support cancer patients.
Watkinson leads a team at the Community Cancer Center that is committed to supporting patients in every aspect of care – from medical treatment, to exercise and nutrition, to social work, family support and so much more. Her team truly provides all the resources a patient needs to face cancer with confidence.
Watkinson will be honored at the Forty Under 40 award ceremony on October 19, 2023 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cedar Rapids.
