Hope Blooms is Back – Order Now!

Traditionally, the daffodil has been known as the first flower of spring and to Gems of Hope, a Nassif Community Cancer Center program, these flowers are a symbol of hope.

The Hope Blooms fundraiser is back! Purchase daffodils for your friends, your co-workers, for yourself, or anonymously for a local cancer patient. Through the Hope Blooms campaign, Gems of Hope can continue to provide inspirational cards and gifts to cancer patients receiving treatment. In addition, they facilitate community workshops, a teen website for family support and provide cancer support books to our area school districts.

The Gems of Hope Story

Gems of Hope was inspired by Tory, a nine-year-old living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. While her mother was in treatment for cancer, Tory wrote daily notes of encouragement, leaving them where her mother would see them. Tory’s mother recognized that the love behind notes and the opportunity to create art, as well as the information she found in her reading, were valuable components in her recovery. She joined two friends also affected by cancer in founding a nonprofit organization that would extend these components to others.

Gems of Hope was formed in 2005. In 2023, it became part of the Nassif Community Cancer Center, which continues the original Gems of Hope mission to bring hope to cancer patients and their families. To learn more, visit https://www.communitycancercenter.org/gems-of-hope/
